Manufacturing of Robotic Wide Field Telescope Complexes  


Since 2002 Moscow Association «OPTIKA» is manufacturing wide-field robotic systems «MASTER» (Mobile Astronomical System of Telescopes-Robots) allowing to monitor near-Earth and far space.

MASTER is fast twin colored (BVRI) and polarized wide-field alert/follow-up/inspect fully robotized telescope with own real-time auto-detection system.

It means, that 1-2min after CCD readout , you have full information about dozens thousands optical sources at every wide-field MASTER image, with photometry and astrometry of each source, and with full indetntification of known (catalogued) and new moving and stationary status of every object.

We offer fully robotized «turnkey» observatories of «MASTER» system in various modifications which include:

- optical part (telescopes themselves)
- electronic part (image acquisition)
- mechanical part (mount, dome, housing)
- computing facilities ("hard")
- programming computational tools ("soft")


Robotic wide field optical complex «MASTER» is capable of working both in autonomous mode and in manual control mode using the world-wide web capabilities.

Computer memory of the complex contains all known data about the celestial objects (stars, galaxies, minor planets, supernovae, artificial satellites and space debris). The system is continuously updating the catalog of known objects via internet.

The software allows real-time image acquisition and processing, identifying objects by types and automatically upload the information to the Databases accessible by the remote user on the WWW.

Robotic «MASTER II» systems created according to specifications by the scientists from Sternberg Astronomical Institute are currently working near Moscow, on Caucasus, on Urals, near Baykal lake and Blagoveshchensk making the joint robotic network for space monitoring.

MASTER Global Robotic Net
The MASTER Global Robotic Net is designed for the space monitoring and quick response to the alerts from other robotized systems (gamma-ray bursts, gravitational waves, etc center network) to solve all top modern astrophysical tasks:

  • to discover the optical sources from gravitational wave sources, detected by LIGO/Virgo
  • to discover and investigate the optical sources from gamma-ray bursts sources (Swift, Fermi, Integral, etc)
  • to discover the optical sources from ultra high energy neutrino sources localization (IceCube, ANTARES, Baksan, Tayga)
  • to discover the optical sources from Fast Radio Bursts (MeerKAT,PARKS,etc)
  • to discover the optical sources from other high energy astrophysics sources
  • to make own sky survey to have one sky per one night and to discover more then 10 types of transients from PHA to far GRB

Every MASTER complexes are installed in the good astroclimate conditions with the maximum number of clear nights. The system does not require the continuous stay of the operator, but requires stable internet and electricity.
